Why is Armani Collezioni now Emporio Armani?
We all know Giorgio Armani, an Italian fashion designer most known for beautiful clean tailored lines. Did you know that he started out designing mens wear?
For many years housed under the Armani label were 7 brands:
- Armani Prive – this is the Armani Couture brand
- Giorgio Armani – a luxury/advanced designer RTW-
- Emporio Armani – a lifestyle designer RTW
- Armani Collezioni – department store designer lifestyle brand
- Armani Jeans – a bridge-line collection of denim-related clothing
- Armani Exchange – an accessible fashion and lifestyle Armani brand sold exclusively in Armani Exchange store.
- Armani Junior – the brand for babies, toddlers, children and junior sizes up to age 16
The Armani Collezioni label was more popular in the US, whereas the Emporio Armani label is known around the world. Giorgio Armani designs mostly for the Prive, Armani and Emporio labels which is one of the key reasons the decision was made to restructure brands and distribution last year.
Armani Collezioni and Armani Jeans will be blended into his main lines and Armani Emporio will be the brand you will now see in department stores. This limits the confusion about the collections and an opportunity for the customer to experience a newness and freshness of Armani Brand.
